LNT Care Developments has acquired a site with planning consent for a 100-bed care home situated in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire.
The previous owner of the site, Wisbech Construction, attained planning permission in March for the scheme consisting of 100 per cent ensuite bedrooms over ground, first and second floors.
Each floor of the proposed development has a treatment room, nurse’s stations, office space, a kitchenette and day space. Externally, there are landscaped gardens with access to the north of the care home, as well as a pedestrian and cycle path.
The 4.7-acre site will also benefit from an anticipated GIA of 6,372 square metres, a large car park to accommodate 50 vehicles, landscaping and five separate residential dwellings.
Previously used as an orchard, the site boasts prominent roadside frontage and is situated just one kilometre east of Wisbech town centre.
“Construction is due to start in January 2022 with a predicted completion date of February 2023. Once complete, the home will offer a strong community facility, integrating with the nearby local facilities of shops, churches, and schools,” said LNT Care Developments land director Keeley Sharp.
“It will provide outstanding accommodation with fully ensuite bedrooms, spacious communal areas, and state-of-the-art amenities including a cinema, library, garden room and tea shop, all surrounded by beautifully landscaped gardens,” she added.
Specialist broker Christie & Co was appointed as the selling agent for the site, which was sold for an undisclosed price.
