Brendoncare appoints new chief executive

Hampshire-based provider Brendoncare has appointed Michael Crutchley as its new chief executive.

With over 25 years of experience in health and social care, Michael has been Brendoncare’s director of care and wellbeing since April 2023. Starting as a health care assistant in 1997 before qualifying as a mental health nurse, Michael has worked in the NHS, charity, and independent sectors in a variety of roles within residential, hospital, and community services.

Brendoncare, based in Winchester, was founded in 1984. It operates seven care homes, extra care housing, community clubs, and support services for older people across the south of England.

Michael Crutchley said: “I am inspired by the work that Brendoncare does, and by our teams who work together to deliver it.

“As an organisation, our values are key to everything we do; kind, dedicated, forward-thinking and empowering.

“I am deeply motivated to continually improve how we deliver care and support, and so it is a privilege to lead an organisation where that is always our priority.”

Brendoncare chair Phil Dowson added: “We are thrilled that Michael will now lead our organisation as we continue our important work to improve the lives of older people.”
