The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is holding a webinar on 20 September on how the regulator is monitoring and prioritising adult social care inspections during the pandemic.
The CQC is evolving its monitoring approach to ensure the public has assurance about the safety and quality of the care they receive, while still focusing on risk.
In July, it introduced a new monitoring approach as a development from the transitional monitoring last year.
The developments carry on the progress in how the CQC monitors care services in three key areas by: (1) improving its ability to monitor risk by being more targeted in its regulatory activity; (2)
bringing information together in one place for inspection teams in a way that supports their decision making; and (3) testing elements of how it wants to work in the future, including a more up-to-date view of risk for people who use services.
This one-hour webinar is aimed at providers and professionals who work in health and social care, organisations who represent them and other stakeholders.
It will take place on Monday 20 September from 3pm and will be led by CQC deputy chief inspector of adult social care Sue Howard.
