Scottish provider Mansfield Care has been given the green light to build a 60-bed care home in Haddington, around 20 miles east of Edinburgh.
East Lothian Council approved plans for the three-storey development alongside a nursery catering for up to 60 children up to the age of five.
Each floor of the care home will be split into two wings, each housing ten bedrooms.
The new care home by Mansfield Care, which operates 11 establishments in Scotland, will also feature day and dining rooms on each floor, with other facilities including a private meeting room, kitchen, laundry, hairdressing salon and cinema.
The one-storey nursery will include two playrooms, changing facilities, a kitchen and office space, as well as a quiet room.
The new care home and nursey are expected to create up to 100 jobs combined.
