This week, we are moving outdoors, where the benefits of effective landscaping to healing and physical and mental wellbeing are widely recognised, with studies showing that exposure to gardens can help improve sleep, increase energy, and reduce agitation and confusion (Thompson Coon et al 2011, Pallister 2001, Lee and Kim 2007).
Furthermore, exposure to sunlight can trigger the production of vitamin D within the body, helping to increase bone strength and support and preventing falls. That is why it is so important to make your outdoor areas accessible, inviting, and calming.
