To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, Mollie Whichello of Qube Learning explains how the recruitment and training solutions provider supported a care worker to succeed in her new profession and make a difference to people’s lives.
Priory Group apprentice Jennifer Blatherwick is working through the pandemic to offer care to those most vulnerable despite her own loss. Jennifer, from Melton Mowbray, began her programme at the local Priory Group care home, Mar Lodge, in October 2019.
After completing a work experience placement, Jennifer knew that the care industry was the right path for her and wanted to pursue a career in helping those who suffered with mental health and learning difficulties.
Having always been passionate about caring for others, Jennifer was determined to succeed in her new profession and make a difference to people’s lives. After successfully completing a two-week work placement, she spent a short time as bank staff and then went on to become a senior support worker on a 30-hour contract.
