The UK care sector has faced significant challenges as a result of the pandemic, and a new wave of infections threatens to push the sector to the brink as it did during the peak of the crisis last March.
While the staged roll-out of a vaccine has provided some respite and appears to be a light at the end of the tunnel, much of the damage has already been done and care providers are still having to work hard to ensure the safety of residents and staff members alike.
Inevitably, it has been predicted for some time that claims will arise against care providers on the grounds that suitable protection was not put in place to prevent spread of the virus to both residents and employees.
