St Albans charity Abbeyfield, which provides residential care and supported living for older people and those with dementia and its associated conditions, explores what care homes need to consider when it comes to feeding their residents.

While much of the way we talk about residential homes focusses on the care given and the physical surroundings, there is one aspect that is equally important – food.

All through our lives, it is important to eat a balanced and varied diet, and this is increasingly true as we age.

This is doubly important for care home residents, who may have specific dietary needs or other health issues to take into account.
