The Relatives Gateway
In the run-up to Christmas, Person Centred Software is helping families keep in touch with their loved ones to combat loneliness in care homes through its online Relatives Gateway portal.
The new Bed Angel
Alarm Radio Monitoring (ARM) has added a new product to its range of wireless nurse call and staff alarm systems – the Bed Angel. The unobtrusive ceiling-mounted Bed Angel creates a circle of care over the sleeping resident, using thermal imaging to monitor the bed and the area directly around it. If a resident leaves the bed, goes to the bathroom and does not return within the allocated time, falls or exits the room, care home staff are alerted immediately.
Portable hand washing facilities
The Teal range of portable sinks can provide care environments with high quality, hygienic hot water handwashing facilities to support areas of the building without plumbing or if the mains water supply is suspended for maintenance or refurbishment.
Antimicrobial tiger sack
Cromwell Polythene, experts in sacks, bags and speciality products for the capture and containment of waste and recyclables is launching a scented and antimicrobial tiger stripe sack. The new product is part of its Sansafe® and clinical waste management range.

Pedal for Pudsey
Pedal for Pudsey is a 12-hour virtual round the world cycling event that will take place non-stop from 8am-8pm on Friday 15th November at Wiltshire Heights in Bradford-on-Avon. The team of stationery cyclists includes residents, staff, and friends of the home, who will be taking it in turns to cycle around the world using Motiview; a concept that allows older people and people with dementia to engage in more physical activity.
